Cabling

CAT-5 Network Cabling is the most common way to wire an office environment properly. We can accommodate Home Office to fully structured cabling retrofit projects in high-rise office buildings with centralized Managed Cross-Connect Panels. All installations are EIA/TIA-568A/B Certified after installation.

WiFi

WiFi provides ability to access your network without wires. Without the proper security installed, your laptop won't be the only device using your Internet connection.

While most people don't mind sharing, the real shock comes when your ISP sends you a bill for over-usage, or worse, your computers are taken by the RCMP because they are now sharing questionable material to the Internet. (these are real scenarios)

We can make it easy for you to use your WiFi, and impossible for unauthorized use.

For Public places, we can install software that not only tracks usage, you can earn additional income from providing a public access point.

Internet

Do you have multiple computers that need access to the Internet?
You would like to ensure that you can access everything, without sharing all your private data with the Internet. We can secure most basic routers for Small Office or Home Office use. For larger networks (4 or more computers) we recommend installing Unified Threat Management (UTM) at the edge of your network.

Office Networks

Sharing information, accessing company records, sharing printers, etc. all become possible with the installation of a simple Office Network. Even the smallest offices with 2 computers benefit from networking. Most homes can now benefit from Internet Video, Internet Radio, Media Sharing and using a single printer for the whole family.

Servers

Typically, when we talk about servers, we mean File or Print Servers. Centralized storage of business data and the ability to share a printer with the entire office.

We usually add functionality to these setups by leveraging the additional benefits of a file server which are often overlooked, or perceived as 'complex'.

  • Centralized Backup
  • Internet Gateway
    Unified Threat Management
    Centralized Virus Scanning
    Inter-Office mail
    Blackberry Server
  • Remote Access VPN
  • Desktop Sharing
  • Cloud Computing
  • Up-Time Guarantees

Please don't overlook the fact that typically a Server provides a cost savings by allowing resource sharing and lowering maintenance down-time and costs.

Windows

Application servers are nowadays provided from Windows environments. Services retain the 'familiar interface' and the server can, itself, behave as a workstation. While this provides enormous benefits, it also comes with some down-sides, such as: Higher price tag and a temptation for un-suspecting people to install non-server applications on it.

Linux

Linux servers provide a simpler and more cost effective approach to centralized file storage. Linux servers are exceptionally well suited for Internet-type applications and office applications which use web interfaces for their management.

Linux servers can be setup to be as secure as Windows servers at a fraction of the cost. Most 'Network Appliances' use Linux as their operating system

Unified Threat Management (UTM)

Unified Threat Management allows a single, low cost, device to act as the Gate Keeper to an Office Network. It controls traffic coming in, and it also controls traffic going out.

When we install a UTM into an office, we usually surprise the Business Manager with how many Internet attacks were stopped, and how many attempts to surf questionable sites (by employees) were stopped.

UTM also provides centralized Virus Scanning 'on the wire', and remote VPN access for travelers or office workers with 'Mobile Internet'.

Web and Mail Servers

For smaller companies, we provide Managed Web and Mail Services to save the unnecessary cost of dedicated Internet Connections. For Medium and Larger companies we provide scaleable service to match their needs.

Voice Over IP (VOIP)

Voice over IP can change the way you think about telephone. Skype and Vonage sound familiar, but Bell and AT&T have used VOIP for their Long Distance services for many years.

Now it has come to Small - Medium Enterprise (SME) and you can create a fully functional office phone environment with Automated Attendant, Voice Mail, Call Queuing, Hot Line / Help Desk and internal extensions for a fraction of the cost of purchasing dedicated PBX systems.

We can even install VOIP solutions which allow your REMOTE employees an office phone extension from their home or hotel room!

VPN - Remote Access

The ultimate in mobility is the ability to access all your office data (and other services, such as VOIP, FAX, Email, Scheduler etc. etc.) as if you were IN the office.

It can be very comforting to know that when you go to a client, you have FULL secure access to your Office documents at all times. You'll never forget a file! You'll be able to change calendar requests and save office documents DIRECTLY on the Office Server.
