Gerry has successfully lobbied and helped secure all of the current project/programs benefitting the Town of Whitby:
- Ensuring new Regional water safety measures are the latest “state of the art”, to ensure safe drinking water

- New triple ice pad arena complex “McKinney Centre” north of Taunton Rd.
- New Whitby Police Station
- THREE New Fire Halls in four years including full time service in Brooklin, Asburn and Myrtle
- New Region wide EMS Ambulance Station at Anderson and Taunton
- Lead discussion to keep the Rossland Rd. Library Branch OPEN
- New Central Library and Civic Square in downtown Whitby
- New club house for Whitby Lawn Bowling Club
- Newly refurbished Centennial Building
- Secured that the new Regional Headquarters remained in Whitby
- Programs to assist Brooklin Downtown Merchants in their beautification of Grass Park and Commercial Area (continuing project)
- Town controlled maintenance of Highway 12 through downtown Brooklin
- Widening of Taunton Road - under construction
- Replacement of old wooden railway bridge on Rossland Road
- New Youth Programs now underway in Town including Youth Web Site
- Recently added 10 new neighbourhood parks for a total of 119 parks (4 more under construction)
- Supported funding for the new Cancer Centre
- Commitment to facilitate the new Abilities Centre-eg. Variety Village
- Strong voice for funding towards the new (UOIT) Durham University /Durham College
- Urged Council to adopt the Communities in Bloom Program
- NO SMOKING Region by-law in public facilities
- 2006 Town and Regional accessibility plans and Physician recruitment - ongoing
